It is particularly important for aircraft such as airplanes, helicopters, and spacecraft, as it helps determine safe altitude limits during takeoff and landing and monitors hazardous altitude changes during low-altitude flight. It can also be used in various applications such as map creation, terrain tracking, and measuring sea level height.
