What is Flight Termination System

A Flight Termination System is a safety mechanism designed to terminate the flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or missile in the event of an emergency or a deviation from its intended trajectory. The primary purpose of an Flight Termination System is to prevent the vehicle from posing a threat to people, property, or other assets on the ground in case of a malfunction or loss of control. Here are the key components and functions of a Flight Termination System : Safety and Compliance: Flight Termination System is an essential component for compliance with safety regulations and standards in the aerospace industry. It ensures that unmanned vehicles can be safely operated in various environments, including controlled airspace. Remote Control: Flight Termination System is typically remotely controlled by a ground-based operator or a flight control center. This operator monitors the vehicle's performance and can initiate the termination process if necessary. Mon...

The ASELSAN HAKIM Center of Azerbaijan has been inaugurated.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, together with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, inaugurated the opening of the Air Force Command Center affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

The two presidents inaugurated the opening of the Air Force Command Center, implemented by ASELSAN under the HAKIM Project, and conducted inspections at the center. Erdoğan and Aliyev then received information about the center from Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, the President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, and Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan.

Two states, one nation, one airspace.

According to the information obtained from SavunmaSanayiST.com, thanks to the HAKIM Project, the joint airspace control zone of the Turkish and Azerbaijani Air Forces will extend from the Aegean Sea to the Caspian Basin.

The air forces of the two countries will have a comprehensive tactical air picture in a wide area by sharing radar track data with each other.

The HAKIM (Hava Komuta Kontrol Sistemi) is an Air Command and Control System

The HAKIM (Hava Komuta Kontrol Sistemi) Air Command and Control System is a national system that processes data from various types and capabilities of sensors to create a Defined Air Picture. It performs Air Task Control operations through Weapon Systems and Surveillance Aircraft, utilizing threat assessment and weapon allocation algorithms. It enables real-time decision support functions and conducts tactical and operational-level Airspace Control activities.

The system processes data from different types of sensors using advanced fusion algorithms. It provides operators with diagnostic suggestions regarding the air picture and generates a Defined Air Picture.

For the threat elements within the Defined Air Picture, the system utilizes advanced threat assessment and weapon allocation algorithms to provide the necessary decision support elements for the effective execution of airspace control missions using prevention aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, surface-to-air missile systems, and gun systems.

Thanks to its modular and expandable architecture, the system will have full compatibility with the systems currently in inventory and those planned for future inventory.
