What is Flight Termination System

A Flight Termination System is a safety mechanism designed to terminate the flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or missile in the event of an emergency or a deviation from its intended trajectory. The primary purpose of an Flight Termination System is to prevent the vehicle from posing a threat to people, property, or other assets on the ground in case of a malfunction or loss of control. Here are the key components and functions of a Flight Termination System : Safety and Compliance: Flight Termination System is an essential component for compliance with safety regulations and standards in the aerospace industry. It ensures that unmanned vehicles can be safely operated in various environments, including controlled airspace. Remote Control: Flight Termination System is typically remotely controlled by a ground-based operator or a flight control center. This operator monitors the vehicle's performance and can initiate the termination process if necessary. Mon...

A historic UAV export agreement has been reached between Saudi Arabia and BAYKAR.

An export and cooperation agreement for the Bayraktar AKINCI UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) has been signed between the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense and BAYKAR.

As part of his Gulf Tour, President Erdogan and his accompanying delegation visited Saudi Arabia as the first country. In this context, Turkey signed various cooperation agreements with Saudi Arabia in different fields.

Ankara, Turkey's BAYKAR and Saudi Arabia's defense ministry have signed what is being called the largest defense and aviation export contract in the history of the Republic of Turkey. Although the details of the agreement are not yet known, it has been announced by Haluk Bayraktar, the General Manager of BAYKAR Technology, that the export is related to the AKINCI UAV.

May this be a prosperous and successful contract for the largest defense and aviation export in the history of the Republic of Turkey."

The AKINCI UAV, with its high payload capacity, is capable of using almost all the munitions that can be used by an F-16 fighter aircraft. Thanks to this capability, BAYKAR has exported the AKINCI UAV to seven different countries, including Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, contracts for the procurement of Bayraktar TB2 UAVs have been signed with 30 countries.
